I was browsing the web and ran across The Responsibilty Project, a Liberty Mutual website.

While the design is scattered – my eye didn’t know where to focus – the idea behind the project is smart: an online place for users (current or future customers) can go to think about what it means to “do the right thing”. This is the perfect set-up for an insurance company. The topics available for discussion include green living, relationships, sports and more. Of course, the site’s content also covers things an insurance company would want you to know: what to do in case of a fire, for instance.

The most interesting thing about the site are the films, videos and animations that touch on – you guessed it – being responsible. It’s not clear from the site who creates the films…is it Liberty Mutual or are they user generated? At any rate, they are a nice touch. Though most of the vids won’t go viral and pass through your inbox repeatedly, sent by three or four friends just days apart, they are a way of getting the brand’s message across in a visual way.

Liberty Mutual is yet another company that realizes it’s not enough to put up your corporate website and run commercial and print ads. To gain and keep audience share, brands have to build loyalty and engage their consumers in a number of ways. The web is just another tool for keeping – and getting – customers.

Adoption Learning Partners Community

As Interactive Project Manager for Adoption Learning Partners, I was responsible for managing the site redesign and moving all content over to the new CMS. I was also charged with creating a design for the site’s new community page, working within the existing framework. The community launch page highlights all of the community’s features, giving users a quick overview of the different elements the community site had to offer.
